First shopping in SA winery – 2 boxes of mixed white (only one bottle of white SB arrived to Brno, the red purchase was Pinotage, Syrah, CabSav and Petit Sirah). They also brewed nice craft beer (4%alc pale ale and 6% IPA)

Day 2: Oudtshoorn – Franshoek (Klein Karoo wine route)

Too late in evening arrival to visit them, just driving around when entering Franshoek, but enjoyed their Chardonay-Pinot Noir for dinner at French Connection restaurant.

Day 3: Franshoek – Stellenbosch – Constantia

Moreson Winery

Nice wine tasting next to our B&B – after morning espresso we started with bubbles (Blanc de Blancs Chardonay and Pink Brut Rose) followed by Mata Mata, Mercator Premium Chardonay, The Widow Maker Pinotage and Dr.Reason Why presented by Gunther.

Vrede en Lust

Trying to visit Lust en Vrede, we found this winery in Simondium, between Franshoek and Paarl. Nice building with a view to mountains and solar farm, surprised with Mocholate Maalbec, that replace espresso for breakfast.

Boschendal

Beautiful garden with wine bar under large tree, beginning of Stellenbosch region, 10 great shared tasting glases.

Tokara

Highlight of the trip in small mounting pass with magnificent views but restaurant was hopelessly full. Great free tasting, but we left hungry without any purchased bottle.

Delheim

After lunch in Stellenbosch center, we visited this small winery on the top of Simonsberg hill. We were advised they do Riesling but at the end we purchased great Pinotage.

Muratie

Next to Delheim, small boutique winery, almost closed when we arrived, we got only limited tasting. We admired cobwebs on windows and walls, creating some unusual form of art. Great Chardonnay.

Day 4: Constantia

Groot Constantia

First winery to open at 9am, nice historical posters about wine export in 19^th century to Belgium.

Beau Constantia

Back on the top of the hill, closed to our hotel, small boutique winery with only 3 tastings – the wines named according to children – Lucca, Aidan, Constantia Glenn in walking distance bellow.

Constantia Glen

Bigger and nicer, although the reconstruction works were disturbing. Nice terrace with extended wine tasting, guided by waiter with ancestors from Sušice. Nice red blends (Three, Five).

Klein Constantia

Winery known to be owned by Czech “nouveau riche” Zdeněk Bakala – surprisingly not so famous like Czech outlaw Radovan Krejčíř. Famous for overpriced liquor wine, nice local whites and upscale Anwilka from Stellenbosch region.
